OPENING DAY FOR DES MOINES WOMEN’S CLUB
Join us as we begin another club year with our
annual tea and opening day program. This year’s program features
the voice and music of Garrison Western. Tenor, Garrison Western is a
Des Moines native and attended North and Hoover High School. He has won
numerous competitions throughout his career and attended the Julliard
School of Music.

interested in Des Moines Women’s Club? Our Prospective Member’s
Coffee is an ideal opportunity to introduce these friends to the club
and Hoyt Sherman Place. We will share a bit of history about the club
and our magnificent home here at Hoyt Sherman. Guests will enjoy coffee
and a light snack and an opportunity to visit with other club members.

GIGANTIC FLEA MARKET
Treasures galore will fill Hoyt Sherman Place
as the women’s club invites all its members to bring in their unwanted
and gently used household items to sell at our annual flea market. In
the past, this event was part of our Annual Bazaar. This year’s
event will also feature our own packaged bean soup and a new addition
(yet, old favorite) packaged nuts.

MYSTERY DINNER THEATER
Bring your investigative skills, your appetite,
and be prepared to sleuth your way through the evening at our mystery/gourmet
dinner theater. You'll be kept on the edge of your seat as you enjoy a
gourmet dinner and dessert while you watch for anything suspicious, interrogate
the suspects and help solve the crime.

100th ANNUAL ART EXHIBITION
The Des Moines Women’s Club will hold their
100th Annual Art Exhibition Saturday, March 8th through Sunday, March
16th at Hoyt Sherman Place. The 100th annual event showcases professional
and non-professional Des Moines area artists among the beauty of the Hoyt
Sherman Place Art Galleries. The 100th Exhibition is open to the public
and there is no admission charge. Selected works of art will be available
for purchase.

BLOOMIN’ PLANT SALE
We will fill your order for your Spring planters
with fresh blooming geraniums, impatiens, and petunias, etc. Order forms
will be distributed in late March/Early April and pick up will be scheduled

It just gets better and better! We should provide
bibs for this finger-lickin’, lip smackin’, great food! With
great friends this sets up for a night not to miss!
Other On-Going Fund Raising Club
Activities
BEAN SOUP/NUTS COMMITTEE
Not to be left out is the diligent group which packages 10 types of beans
for soup, and supplies them for retail sale at all the Dahl’s stores
in the Des Moines area. This committee will also package nuts to be sold
at our Gigantic Flea Market and in November and December for Christmas
baking.
CLUB TRIPS UNLIMITED
This committee plans one day, two-three day, or extended trips throughout
the United States and abroad. We welcome non-Club members on these trips
and urge anyone who wishes to be on our mailing list to indicate an interest!
BAKELESS BAKE SALE
We’re having a Bakeless Bake Sale! No fat!
No calories! No baking! Instead of buying the ingredients for your famous
cake, pie, or cookies, just give the money – or, if you are not
a baker, just donate what you would have spent to buy those delicious
