The Hoyt Sherman Place Foundation

The home of the Des Moines Women's
Club, Hoyt Sherman Place, crowns the
Sherman Hill Historic District. It was the
1877 Victorian residence of the Des Moines founding father, Hoyt Sherman. With its carved dark woodwork, high arched doors, marble fireplaces, walnut staircase, parquet floor and Oriental rugs, lovely antiques and artobjects in every room it is indeed a home to be proud of.

In order to assure the preservation of
Hoyt Sherman Place, the Des Moines
Women's Club formed the Hoyt Sherman Place Foundation in 1994.
